Stella is a grade Appaloosa/Paint cross mare who just finished her second year in our string. She’s been used extensively as a packhorse, bringing loads of gear into our camps and loads of elk quarters out of the high country, and we’ve also ridden her extensively in the high country. Prior to that, she had several months of English pony club hunter/jumper training with Lindsay Alvarez in Grand Junction.
Stella is a tough little horse that will make a great friend for some lucky buyer. She’s got a very pretty head and beautiful dark red markings. Her feet are in excellent shape, and she shoes, stands tied, and loads in a trailer with no problems. Stella likes people and is very sociable and easy to catch. She gets along well with other horses in the herd, and doesn’t get bitchy like some mares do.
Stella is just coming into her prime as a saddle horse. She’s been all over the mountains and has a lot of practical experience, and now is the time for her to go to a good family or individual rider who will appreciate her desire to bond with a good home.
She’s completely sound and has no health issues at all, and is current on all her vaccinations, her teeth were floated in July 2006, and she’s ready to go.
